Access consciousness – So, what is running the bars?

This has been an exciting month at Be Well Studios. Not only have we welcomed Hannah Neumann of Meadowsweet Midwifery, but we also now welcome Kelly Raji Simpson, healer, body worker, Access Consciousness practitioner, and overall awesome human. Kelly is now practicing at Be Well Studios, and offers a specialty you might not have ever heard of; running the bars. So what is running the bars?

When I heard about Access Consciousness and running the bars, I had NO idea what to expect. I sat down with Kelly and was pretty excited with my experience. According to Access Consciousness, Access Bars®  has “assisted thousands of people to change many aspects of their lives. People report better health, ease of sleep, weight loss, better sex and relationships, relief from anxiety, less stress and so much more.”

Here is what to expect:  similar to Reiki, you will lay on the practitioner’s table in a quiet environment. I recommend keeping an open mind and just observing what you may feel throughout the process. Your practitioner will  gently touch 32 unique points on the head that correlate to different areas and aspects of life. This process is meant to release the electromagnetic charge of all thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions, and beliefs that may have limited you in the concerned life areas.

Here is what it what like for me: Throughout this process I felt increasingly relaxed. I also felt different things when touch was applied to different parts (bars) of my head. There were times where I felt like some sort of energy was moving between touch points (hence “running the bars.”) There were times I felt a sensation of warmth, and there were times when I felt nothing at all. I later learned that this feeling of warmth could be attributed to the release of built up energy in a particular bar.

While my session with Kelly was brief, I left feeling newly energized, relaxed, and just generally optimistic and open to whatever the day would present to me. Will this be your experience? I honestly have no idea – but i do know that healing work is AWESOME and there’s certainly no harm in trying something new in life. Who knows? You might learn something new about yourself!

Kelly Raji Simpson works at The Local Grocer & practices at Be Well Studios. For more information, check out her website or facebook.

Welcome, Kelly!
