Meet our newest instructor Jess Brown.  Native to the area, Jess is a mother of 3 beautiful children. She is a Yogi, lover of nature, the earth, humans and animals, a health food enthusiast, Level 1 Reiki Practitioner and Front Desk Associate at The Local Grocer. She worked in Behavior Health for 5 years, supporting children with developmental delays and cognitive impairments. She took a break from the field in 2010 to raise her children and began developing a yoga practice at home. Jess attended a 200hr yoga teacher training with Yoga NH and Yoga Alliance at Rooted to Bloom Studio in Littleton NH, which she graduated from in August 2015. Finding her roots and passion for helping others bring balance into their bodies and life, Jess spent the last year developing her practice into a more mind, body connection, going only where intuition guides her. She truly enjoys a full spiritual practice combining the Earth’s elements with breathwork and movement, making space inside the body for change to occur. As a teacher/guide, her aspirations are to share her earth based practices with the community and encourage her students to be present in their bodies, while grounding into the stability of the Earth. Jess is very grateful and excited to be a part of Be Well Studios and invites you to come flow with her through the Earth’s seasons, elements and energies!
All levels are welcome!

Relaxed Goats 2

I gotta tell ya, when I was first approached by the good folks at The Local Grocer to help them out with a twice monthly Blog, I really had to do some hard thinkin’. Would people really want to hear what I had to say? Would this interfere with my lifestyle? My nap schedule? What exactly was it that they were looking for? And most important: what would the neighbors think? Many questions……
So we came to an agreement. As long as I was allowed complete artistic freedom, I would give it a try. I am an independent Goat, and refuse to be stifled.

Me and Bam

So there’s some subjects that are just going to be off limits on principle. For instance, don’t be expectin’ any advice or recipes for cooking goat. After all, what would the neighbors think? You also won’t hear a peep from me regarding the presidential election. I am a pacifist and a vegetarian.
Since the summer harvest season seems to be in full swing, I thought I would share one of my favorite salsa recipes with you:

Easy Garden Fresh Salsa
2 medium tomatoes- seeded and diced
1 green or red bell pepper- seeded and diced
1 small cucumber- peeled, seeded and diced
2 cloves garlic-minced
1 small onion or two scallions- diced
minced hot pepper of your choice (optional)
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
pinch sea salt
minced cilantro to taste
Combine all ingredients in large glass bowl, cover, refrigerate for one hour
serve with chips or as a garnish

If you’re still reading this, I’ve caught your attention! If you’d like more advice from me, please keep me out of your Spam folder, and I’ll be back in your in-box in two weeks!

Until then, don’t take life too seriously, and don’t forget to Ree-laxxx!

Welcome all to the WOW Yoga series!

What makes WOW (Women of Wisdom) a yoga class/practice worthy of your time and energy? Women of all ages are faced with physical changes throughout their lives. Women in society seek common sharing and the safety of exploring yoga and their body, mind, and spirit in a nurturing environment. You’ve got to love your body. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes and what better way to create self acceptance and love for the gift you’ve been given.

We will explore ways of connecting at deeper levels through yoga asanas, readings, tapping into the lunar energies and connecting with crystals and angel cards. Radical self-care for support within each class and the series will be offered. Come and be, move, live, breathe, dream, and love. All levels are welcome and participants are invited to bring journals, poems, and to send me suggestions prior to class for special interest topics.

We want to thank our local teachers for the great and important job they do.  To help them ease into the new school year all MWV school teachers pay only $5 for yoga and meditation the entire month of September!
